I understand fully the Paradox of Tolerance, but it doesn't apply here. I am not being tolerant of Mr Trump. I am applying the law, something which deals with things that are 'just wrong' and has a codified and clearly defined way to deal with such things. Now, we could throw out the totality of jurisprudence and simply imprison those people you believe are WRONG, but how would that make you any better than a dictator from the other side?

If you have liberalism and you have democracy, you have the rule of law. You apply the law equally and fairly to everyone, this includes the presumption of innocence - and what's more you guard against people deviating from an equal application of the law regardless of which segment of society they come from.

The Paradox of tolerance cuts both ways, there are people who tolerate you and who you might overrun with your intolerance - and I won't let them try and amend the law to assert your guilt prima facie either.

That's not what the law is for.
