I understand what the 14th amendment was for - but there's a wide gulf between overturning the 14th on Monday and throwing all black americans into slavery first thing on Tuesday morning. The Civil War amendments were made in a country that had just finished fighting. The 14th contains a lovely bit designed to stop Confederate generals getting a Presidential pardon and holding office (and perhaps could be used against Trump).

What I meant with a critique of your position is that in the 152 years between 1870 and 2022, there has been plenty of law developed which doesn't rely entirely on the 14th and guarantees different rights. Much of the Civil Rights Movement in the 50s and 60s was guaranteed under the 1st. When you also add in the complexity of the American demos and the racial mixing - it would be very difficult to decide who to throw into slavery if that's the way everyone wanted to go (and I don't think it is)

In short, overturning the 14th doesn't immediately mean everyone goes back into slavery. Other protections are available.
