I was a working class grammar school kid - probably one of the last few that got in without their middle class parents hot-housing them through the J11+ or whatever it was called. I was very much in the lower income bracket at the school and never had friends round to stay.

A few private schools have offered me drama teaching positions over the years - when it turns out the rah-rah kiddo they hired taught the wrong syllabus or not taught anything - and I've always told the schools politely to fuck off - I cannot be bought. I'm ideologically opposed to the privatisation of education in much the same way I'm ideologically opposed to the privitisation of most things.
