I was going to write and try and define my political position - but then I remembered I did an article about it - so I'll point you in that way. I'm an old school liberal (bordering on libertarian) and an economic european socialist. That makes me significantly left of the US population.
Most of the so called 'left wing' arguments being made by 'liberals' are neither left wing nor liberal. They're identity arguments made by a bourgeois middle class who ignore economics and who police society with a vehemence that is terrifying.
This article will explain my position a little better I think and why we'll likely debate a fair bit and enjoy the cut and thrust of doing so :o)
