I wasn't quoting anyone, I was making a generic observation that I've heard throw around a few times.

Yes indeed, factors like economic migration and economic policies around immigration will contribute to differences between races in education. I would say that's likely to be more a factor in your country than mine - and our countries are very different places. It's one of the reasons why we can't copy and paste across populations. Many of our black residents are economic migrants direct from Africa or from the Caribbean. It's not the same set up here than it is where you are. That's exactly why we embrace identity politics at our peril. There are too many differences.

I'm not sure why you think white people and black people only have one facet of privilege based on their skin colour alone. Do you not think rich white people have also been oppressing poor white people? Or doesn't that matter? White people deserve it because their skin colour will protect them.

Could it be that your concept of 'white privilege at all costs' is blinding you to all other interlocking facets of privilege?
