I watched the first Fantastic Beasts film and I went with a friend who is a die hard Harry Potter film. She thought it was a work of genius, I thought it was an overly long indulgent piece of creative drivel. Eventually she agreed it 'might've been a bit long' - there were entire segments of nonsense point and stare that were devoid of plot. It was awful. I've never bothered with the rest.... I also didn't bother with Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' - same problem. Narrative is always sacrificed in favour of creative guff.
