I would consider myself a progressive lefty, I have followed Corbyn’s policies with interest, have voted for him and believe genuinely in his sincerity. Corbyn is a man who has not changed his position since about 1970 unless under extreme duress — and even then, not by much. He’s a principled and educated man promoting his own branch of very British tolerance.

People who have not read as much as he has, think far less deeply than he has, and who aren’t as intelligent as he is have taken broad brush messages and run with it. The increasingly intolerant army of theoretically tolerant people.

Those on the extreme left and the extreme right have more in common with each other when it comes to observable behaviours than they do with the centre ground. It will rebalance, it always does. In the meantime though it’s all about ‘Clowns to the Left, Jokers to the Right’ and just waiting out the madness.
