If what you wanted from life was to be able to focus on the task at hand - Medium was the wrong choice for you. The last few years have been fairly horrific for US politics - but I'm all about reasonable and civil debate regardless of political flavour and regularly call out both sides. Makes me about as popular as a fart in a spacesuit, but I don't mind.

I'm meeting lots of new writers in the comments and there seems to be a good influx of rational and reasonable readers coming through - hopefully you're all going to start writing soon! What a time to be on Medium, I'd almost given up on it - it was going down a very 'Twitter' style path until recently.
