Ignoring bullies has never empowered them - they're bullies. In general, if you ignore a bully they'll get bored and fuck off. I had a friend at school who always overreacted whenever they were called a name, they were a sensitive friend. I was also called names, I laughed and occasionally joined in. Guess which one of us was bullied the longest. :o)
