I’ll try and reply as succinctly as possible - because it’s late here. Feminism, when done properly is about equity and equally between the sexes. Its definition has to include all bros, all non-bros, all women, and all feminist-af.
The two fringe groups, bros and the f.afs believe and posit this through a gendered lens. You did just that, presuming that bros need to be looked after by women and that feminism as a movement applies mostly to women. We agree on that - it’s why I dont identify as a feminist. There’s as much latent misandry at the fringes of the feminist movement as there is outright misogyny in the bro camp. It behaves differently but it’s no less insidious and counter productive to the aims of equity and equality between the sexes.
As I argued in the article I linked, these two types of people are locked in a completely intransigent mindset, firmly holding the belief it’s the fault of the other half of humanity. The vast majority of the rest of us are quietly having functional relationships and not sitting in bubbles of toxic reinforcement.
As always, I’ll continue on an objective promotion of gender egalitarianism, but it doesn’t look like what MAGA is peddling, but nor does it look like ‘bros are the worst’.
