I’m going to throw a few facts in here…. A cursory reading of the sources shows that the White MP isn’t an MP at all, he’s a Tory councillor in Wales. He’s nowhere near the House of Commons.
Secondly he’s a Tory and Dianne Abbott is a Labour MP. That means his punishment should be meted out by the leader of the Tory, party or the chief whip. Given the PM isn’t white the situation looks a bit more complicated than ‘everyone is racist all the time’.
Because Diane Abbott is an MP and a Labour MP, she’s under Keir Starmer, now he is a white guy, but he’s also committed to throwing out anti-semitism in the Labour Party when he finds it. In fact he did that not long ago to an old white guy called Jeremy Corbyn.
What Dianne Abbott did was suggest that Jewish people and traveller people could not be subject to racism, only prejudice. Unfortunately, because every idiot under the sun has made racism such a poisonous recriminatory topic, any nuance she had has been lost. Given that both groups were racially profiled and murdered by white supremacists between 1933 and 1945, she needed to be careful with what she said.
She wasn’t careful. She’s an MP. She’s been held accountable. The other guy is a racist Tory from North Wales. The Tory party is full of racists. That’s how the membership managed to vote in Liz Truss, because although well known to be a feckless sock in a dress, she was still whiter than Sunak.
You’ve done a false equivalency here, and done little to take the sting out of ‘everything is racist’ - which makes you part of the reason people like Dianne Abbott get defenstrated from the Labour Party.
