I'm hoping the case goes away very soon but I suspect it won't, because that's not the nature of personality disorders. Heard is already doing a media tour and will likely get herself an injunction and potentially after that she'll get held for contempt of court.
We'll see.
I'm not convinced under criminal court she'd get him charged with physical or sexual abuse... the evidence just isn't there. She might've won if she'd stuck to the legal arguments but she got caught in a lot of lies and the jury sided with him on pretty much everything. It was her case to lose and she lost it.
I just had a little research trip to find out. Depp is back in court for allegedly hitting a location manager in 2018 on City of Lights. According to the guy Depp punched him twice in the ribs/stomach and then Depp offered to pay that guy $100,000 to hit Depp in the face. The guy refused and walked away and then when asked to sign an NDA, refused and was removed from production.
Depp says none of this happened, he confronted the guy because he was being rude to a black homeless woman who had wandered onto set and they had a heated discussion but it was all resolved. He says he has multiple witnesses from the set who will attest to this and other people from the set have been subpoenaed.
Both are bringing their legal arguments and their evidence to court. I'll wait and read the judgment if it's not in open court (and I don't think it is)... which is annoying, because I'm a bit fascinated with the US legal system at the moment :o)
