I’m not a new writer either, I’ve been here a long time and growing an audience fairly steadily. My money is up. I’ve had a rising average rather than every month being better than the one before.
I’m sure there are new superstars emerging, Ms Tepfenhart blocked me after I dared to question her wisdom…. The thing about growing fast and high is it creates a sort of writer who sets themselves to broadcast and loves the smell of their own shit. I’ve seen them all come here, ride the wave, bitch and burnout. the average indie writer is being supported by the new CEO and it feels more egalitarian and motivating for newbies.
I think I will continue to grow my audience, shoot my literary shot on a day-by-day basis and enjoy my modest yet slowly rising returns. The new gen are exciting, I hope they don’t turn into entitled bellends like some of my intake. Money, ego and prestige will do that to a person. :o)
