I’m not sure investigations have shown that - because that is an active war zone and it would not be safe to fully investigate such things at the moment. These things are not going to be sorted for a long time and each side has a vested interest in controlling the narrative and most people have a vested interest in their confirmation bias.

As for picking sides, I’m not American - I’m British and I think the binary choice is unhelpful. Wars and conflicts are multifaceted with numerous nuanced positions. To pick a side is to take a heroes vs villains paradigm straight from children’s comic books and use it as a lens to simplify things down.

I think, for example, it’s possible to be sympathetic to the Palestinian cause whilst rejecting Hamas. There have been no free elections in the GS since 2006 and nobody under 35 has known anything but a Hamas government controlling everything. Under those circumstances is it likely you’ll find anything but a strong hatred of Jewish people. There are complexities at play that make ‘side picking’ an immature response.
