It certainly is being used ad infinitum by certain sections of the left wing – and there’s no real recourse to it at the moment as it’s all encompassing and overwhelming. I think there’s a danger of conflating the liberal position (the one I hold and write about) with the intolerant social engineering that progressives are pushing under the guise of liberalism.

Kafka Traps and the people who push them are in real danger of shooting genuine progress in the foot. When right and left debate well the general trend is that the right keep the wheels of capitalism turning and fuel economic growth whilst the left push into new liberal territory for society. They need each other and they need balance.

For the woke, the right are ‘the enemy’ but for liberals with a lefty slant, the conservative right is a balancing force against our own stupidity. For the alt right, the liberal left are the enemy, but without them society would stagnate rapidly and innovation would fall away.
