It is a sign of intelligence to quietly gather all the information available before you make a judgement and act on it. This did not happen in this case, a lack of due diligence by those with a specific agenda. Whilst I’m broadly in favour of the #MeToo movement, I’m concerned by the ferocity of it’s supporters and the damage they can do to an individual’s life and reputation. The extreme end of the movement makes judgments prima facie and absence of support is viewed as tacit complicity. As the movement continues to make more and more miscalculations like this, it will rapidly lose impetus — and that’s a shame. I do believe it’s initial intentions were centred around creating a better world for both genders — and it has descended very speedily into misandry.
I wrote an article about how this sort of psychology works. You may enjoy it. Interestingly, when I first wrote it — I was contacted about being promoted onto the homepage, but the editors were concerned about how some people might be offended that I warned #MeToo members to watch where their movement was going. They said nothing about the same advice I gave to MAGA Trump supporters. A sign of the times perhaps….
I hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed your article :o)
