It is difficult to talk about attractiveness when one is an online Penguin, nevertheless I can say with some honesty that I am conventionally less attractive than the Significant Other Penguin. However, I am more outgoing, more social, more spontaneous and more of most things that are considered attractive traits outside of a singular focus on aesthetics.
I have long held the idea that attraction is a frame of mind and most people who are attractive are not conventionally aesthetically pleasing. I have generally found those people who are 'stunning' to be very dull to be around after a while. Those super attractive kids, they often end up with maladaptive patterns and maladaptive partners. That power couple from high school rarely stay that way past their mid-twenties and they often become turgid and dull, sometimes they have beautiful children and begin the cycle all over again.
Men might not be able to see beauty in themselves - but nor should they bother. :o)
