It must be exhausting to be this wound up about children’s films…. I read your article about Up with bemusement but here you’ve jumped the shark. Ocean themed phrasing all round. To see the world entirely through the eyes of a fun sponge must eventually wear everyone around you down to near emotional emptiness.

Not everything in the world is a subtle comment on modern identity politics…. Sometimes it’s just a story about a fish who got lost and rescued by his Dad. Dory isn’t a progressive look at non-neurotypicals, she’s just a fish who forgets things, part plot-device, part break-out character.

Honestly! It’s like viewing childhood through the eyes of a depressed English literature teacher! Cheer up.
