It really is quite a pity. I'd like to think there's more Strawberry on Medium than most platforms - that can only be a good thing.

Language is always interesting and the Wittgenstein idea of a shared language but a private understanding. I know what I mean when I write 'woke' but these things have different meanings depending on culture. Am glad that you hold me to account, it's very necessary and I think that should apply to every writer on this platform. Everyone should be held accountable and answerable for the ideas they put out. I always try to discuss towards consensus or at least an understanding of the fundamental disagreement. It's not about trying to win, in a decent debate there's no end point - there's just the journey.

I do mention I'm British, but then sometimes I'll write 'mom' instead of 'mum' and throw in a y'all or two for good measure - this is entirely for my own amusement. In my real life I have a fairly mischevious sense of humour - brought on by years of teaching drama to small people. Most people take life far too seriously.
