It won't be enough, I think there needed to be some serious radical change in this budget.... and this was more of a business as usual budget. It's a smart budget, but it won't make a dent in the oncoming chaos of Brexit + Pandemic and within a few months he's not going to be quite the goldenboy of the Conservative party. it's very easy to give money away, much harder to take it back - and there should've been some windfall taxes on the companies and individuals who have really benefited from the pandemic. Supermarkets, online retailers, Matt Hancock's best friends etc.
I think given the change from Corbyn to Starmer, in a few years we're going to see another 1997. We got Atlee after WWII, and I think we'll get Starmer in the same vein. That Labour movement birthed the NHS, the next one might have an equally profound effect on UK history. Labour should start behaving like a Government in waiting and not a squabbling mess of college students on amphetamine.
