It would depend on how that question is asked, to whom it asked and the context within which it is delivered. Self-reporting can be a problematic metric. As a counter example, I find it difficult to believe that almost 100% of men are against rape when asked given the incidence of rape in the world - a judgement based on self-reporting would need to be balanced against what people DO rather than what they SAY - peer reviewed or not.
