It's a complicated one - I'm not a huge fan either, but the political left needs to refigure what it actually stands for and get back to the basics of economic redistribution. Your messaging cannot be so weak that you lose to a convicted felon, approaching being put in jail, who already has a terrible record, and who has promised to reduce voting right - and if your message is that weak (and it was) then you need to reflect and reposition. Here's the Penguin take if you're interested - as I know we Brits love pontificating on US politics. :o)
