It’s a fair critique, though I take the opposite stance as a writer. I think writers and creatives should be allowed to write and create whatever they want - with the caveat they have to live with the consequences of doing so. If you can’t be bothered to do the research, learn Spanish, correctly put together something that’s meaningful and true then you should be panned for it. Sadly, this one has been nominated for an Oscar, ostensibly because the subject matter is sticking two fingers up at the Trump administration and is therefore the (unwise) DEI pick. It seems like a hilarious pyrrhic victory at best, and a clustefuck of useless woke groupthink at worst. :o)
