It's a good question and one I don't have the answer to. At a push I'd suggest it wsa a breakdown in communication between the different editors/judges and confusion about how to enforce the Medium standards. I reckon the judges just judged the stuff that was put in front of them - and that's where the mistake was made.

I got no other nits to pick - lots of people do. I work with Law (sometimes) so I know how black and white it can be. This will be interesting if someone pushes it.
