It's basically a society wide pissing contest to see who can be the underdog. Like someone blended Marxist theory with identity and decided you could define the lower class by virtue of identity rather than by economic status.
It detracts from the most obvious solution, socialism. The redistribution of wealth from very wealthy people (mostly white) to poorer people (white and BIPOC). The continuation of the alt-right and woke narrative, allow the middle classes to continually outflank each other without resolving the problem.
Meanwhile, the wealthy people mobilise the white working class against BIPOC and nobody gets anywhere. I have no problem with the classic liberal position, because it's essentially tolerant and has a live and let live approach - but that applies across the board and you have to allow people to hold positions you don't agree with. That's what modern liberals are missing. Policing tolerance with the levels of forceful intolerance society hasn't seen since the Stasi.
Thanks for the comments and bringing a new perspective into the mix. I always think all the best stuff happens in the comments. The clickbait is just to get the conversation started. :o)
