It's been a 50 year long game of chess that was started by a poor piece of law. The Supreme Court was working just fine until it wasn't and the original Roe ruling created a white elephant which needed addressing. Democrats and Republicans have been trying to stack the court ever since - but Trump managed it.
I don't know if throwing out the legitimacy of the court is the panacea you think it might be. Everyone within the court has been there via the rules. They were nominated by a sitting President, if you wanted a system where any President who lost the popular vote wouldn't be allowed to nominate a SCJ (which I think is a good idea) then it needs to be written into law. I don't think you can throw the entire process and system out because it has given a result you find to be offensive or distressing. Or, if you do, then the consequences of doing so are to permanently destroy the credibility of the judicial arm of the American experiment. That'll be a big fix.
Thanks for the article, it was very enjoyable. :o)
