It’s difficult when you have internally tied some of the worth of your writing to an inconsistent reward system. It’s not good psychologically and with no outlet for a negative response to a lack of reward, you’ll feel frustrated angry and then sad. It’s worth uncoupling yourself psychologically from an inconsistent master.

QJ is Steve QJ. Very much a rising star in the new pantheon, very talented, nice style and intelligent to boot. I like his work. There are some good writers on here who are under-rewarded, some terrible writers who are over-rewarded and some of us floating around in the middle seemingly winning or losing at every twist of the Medium experiment. :o)
