It’s the only book I’ve read where my reaction after reading it was one of absolute neutrality. I neither liked nor disliked it. I didn’t regret reading it, but I didn’t feel compelled to ever read it again. Most of the time you’re reading the footnotes so the translator can tell you what pun the author has put in with two Spanish words that nobody uses anymore. It’s like Shakespeare in that regard. Absolutely hilarious 400 years ago, doesn’t jump off the page for the modern non-Spaniard. :o)
