I've been meaning to come back and say thank you for this for the last few days and I keep getting distracted. I made the mistake of reading it on my phone and typing out a reply before my phone promptly died and I lost my reply.

This is crazy - I did not know there was a different standard of murder in separate states. I presumed you had one fixed definition that you were all working from as dicated by some sort of over-arching legal process. Have they ever tried to simply combine these into one single workable process? Or is this just the batshit way your country has evolved and everybody is fine with it.
