I’ve never read this book but it does sound like I would enjoy it. Like you, I’d prefer to go out on my own terms at a time convenient for me and with a decent sense of peace and closure. Life on the hedonic treadmill can be tough and ‘good jobs’ are part of that. Enjoy just being and then you likely won’t regret or fear the prospect of not being whenever that happens to arise.
