I've struggled with this entire argument because it is essentially a sort of thought experiment where everyone gets to agree and high-five if they agree - and if they don't agree, they clearly haven't thought about it enough. Arguments like these don't really allow for nuance or individuality, that's not what they're for. They're pack arguments to create a homogeny of views. I also read 'So Many People Are Missing The Point" article - which is also what inspired me to write my rebuttal. I don't think many of us did miss the point.
