I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this back and forth. Elle is a stickler for people saying what they mean - if it helps (or at least throws a curve ball into the mix) I interpreted your 'MLK's murder was the epitome of cancel culture' as a rhetorical device, designed to suggest that death is the ultimate way of shutting people up; not a direct parallel with murder.... but it's been interesting watching the back and forth. I like the sort of things you say, I enjoyed myself. :o)
