I’ve written a story about it - I don’t particularly care what colour skin people have and who plays what…. But the same people who are fine with this are also the people who lambasted scarlett johanssen for taking a clearly Asian role in Ghost in the shell. You can’t have it both ways - either skin colour and race doesn’t matter for fictional roles and everyone plays everyone - or skin colour does matter.

And if skin colour does matter, then this version of the story... Adapted by Disney from a white version of a culturally white myth about sailing (which the Scandinavians are culturally adept at)… cannot and should not be altered.

As I said, I don’t care. But if race is going to be used as a weapon against creative expression you must allow both sides to wield it.
