John Stuart Mill, George Francis Train, Thetus Sims, Daniel Antony, James Mott, Henry Blackwell, Francis Minor, Henry Fawcett, Keir Hardie, George Lansbury, Henry Nevinson….. it’s not my fault you haven’t read about the men backing the women. Or was it simply a piece of political magic done entirely by women? And if so, how on earth did they get the legislation passed by an entirely male legislature?
The problem with Femagoguery is that it sees the world in absolutes. It positions feminism as a righteous cause for women against men, instead of a continuation of equality for human beings. That’s why it won’t work. It’s why it’s clearly not working already - it feels good, but you’re being deceived by your echo chamber - and, as is often the case with activists of any flavour, dissent feels like oppression.
