LAYLA! W'hoooo. Welcome back and congrats on carrying on your journey as a writer. I've found the best thing to do is write what you think is true - and then be open to changing your mind and debating with others. I have no problems doing an about turn or publishing a decent rebuttal if one appears.
Be held accountable but write what you think and believe to be true. If others are affected - that's partly on them. You cannot be responsible for the feelings and emotions of other people - that doesn't mean you should deliberately set out to offend. Some writers do. But you cannot govern your work with anyone's feelings but your own.
Overthinking is a product of your generation (I'd argue) trying to see everything through the lens of everyone else is a recipe for anxiety. So publish your contradictory thoughts and do things your own way whatever else happens. Your writing is compelling enough to find your readership.
It's not just a grey day in London - we're having an alternate sunshine blizzard fest. It's absolute temperature chaos and making it very difficult to do script editing. Glad you're back. Looking forward to more Layla in my reading list :o)
