Let’s be clear, I’m not throwing anything under the bus. I’m a liberal Brit. What I’m saying is that building a right to abortion on the 14th Amendment wasn’t a smart move for the supreme court because it relied on a due process clause to privacy that could be overturned. It may be that others laws come under fire such as gay marriage, but i think these laws are less easily subverted.

The arguments for marriage and for freely available abortion are defensible under the constitution, but not under the sections that have been argued. The liberals have known there was a bus coming for a while but stood on the curb. The religious right have shoved them under the bus marked ‘politics’.
