Love love love this article. I was listening to 'Thinking Fast and Slow' the other day and it included a rule of thumb handed down from senior therapists to students. 'Don't, under any circumstances believe you're the therapist who can change the malignant narcissist - they'll tell you why every other therapist failed them and assure you that you're different - you aren't different'.
The advice is about overriding your initial intuitve beliefs about your exceptionalism. This article makes exactly the same point - and even if I chose to be a therapist (and I don't have the temperament for it) - I would give the MN's a wide berth. Great article!
