Many, but not all of those, who call for cancelation are often very politically active and relatively young. Do you not think there may be a problem when these younger members of the workforce become the gatekeepers? I don't know the relative age of the gatekeepers in your story - but as someone who has also been cancelled, I found a clear divide between the vociferous youth (18-30) and the generation or so above them.

I sit politically on the left, but very much in the liberatarian position (as oxymoronic as that is) - so I don't have a problem with cancel culture as a vehicle for change. That's what a boycott is - but I do have a problem with mass stupidity and the closing down of free speech via the backdoor of social justice. The Harper letter was a well thought out rebuke from a whole bunch of different people. I think it will have a prominent place in the history textbooks of our grandchildren if we don't address the continuing societal divides.
