Many writers here are trying to game the system - and most of them will fail because the reason they're writing (they want money) doesn't come quick enough before their enthusiasm wanes. There are many iterations of Medium. We are in a new phase - we are always in a new phase.

That article needs updating, but it does an okay job of explaining the journey. At the moment we're mostly in echo-chamber land and the algorithm is too good at showing people what they want to see rather than sending them quality things they should read. There's a proliferation of poorly written work getting eyeballs because the eyeballs are not discerning enough.
I'm not sure what to make of AI generated work, I'd like to see it try and match my style. I don't think it could because I'm too unpredictable in my word choices (at least I think so) I'd be happy to be proven wrong though. Or at least proven blancmange, which is like wrong but strawberry flavoured.
Keep up the good stuff. :o)
