Medium are pushing their own publications and professional journalists have pushed out the amateurs (including Mr Obama). Said journalists are pretty much now writing social justice Clickbait for their respective echo chambers and everyone else is clocking out. Placing creative power in the hands of a small cadre of professional journalists was a massive error that turned Medium into an online newsletter. There are still some good amateur writers on here with interesting things to say – but finding them is becoming harder as they jump ship and take their insight elsewhere.
