Medium has a quality problem - and I don't think it's one easily solved. It can measure what happens to a piece, but it can't measure the quality of a piece itself. It can see how many likes or comments a piece gets, but doesn't seem to understand the reason why. The boost system seems like a step in the right direction - and yes, you're right - money is the glue holding it together, but it isn't the only glue.... there is community here, and genuine encouragement. If you or I were writing solely for the money, we'd have fucked off for pastures new long ago. Quality beats quantity and I have faith Medium will work out how to measure quality eventually. :o)
