Most people care what other people think - and sometime it's hard. I don't care what other people think of me - but my significant other penguin worries about what other people think of me. They know I can rub people up the wrong way, I don't think it's shame, I think it's a form of defensive protectiveness and conflict avoidance. Some people aren't built for the fight and sometimes fighters forget this.

Go around, fix windows, say hello, continue with your many acts of DIY and social kindness. These may not change the world, but they will change someone's world and in many ways that's more important. The world does not become better via revolution and shouting, it's the slow and steady chipping away of one person after another that does it.

Keep on keeping on....and feel free to come fix shit in my house. I have zero DIY skills.
