Much of what needs pushing back on here has already been covered in other threads. Suffice to say....

Feminists aren't women. Feminists are people committed to equality between the sexes. Because you count yourself as a feminist and you are unable to see this salient point, because you cannot see feminism as an overarching system for the betterment of men and women alike, then I cannot be a feminist.

I'll be a gender egalitarian. You be proud of misandry.

Feminists don't hate men - not real feminists. They can't. It's ideologically anathema to the agreed aims. If there are feminists who hate men then they cannot be part of a movement towards gender equality - by their own admission. They may have good reason to hate men (as you have suggested, and I agree) but by curating and celebrating those voices, the movement is undermined and moderates like me will back away.

At which point we are accused of 'hating women'. That is not the case now, is not the case tomorrow and will never be the case. The quality of discussion has to become better - and the constant shouts of 'oppressor' are tiresome.

And yes, there is a pressing need for a more active feminism outside of the West. On that we can at least agree. :o)
