My advocacy is indeed against the institution of marriage - the formal interference of the state and religion in how people want to create and sustain relationships.

For me, all human beings are 'in a relationship' and even single people aren't generally single, they are in relationships with friends, family, with themselves, with their culture - they simply aren't in monogamous sexual relationships - which seem to have become the default definition of what constitutes a successful relationship.

Whether or not you live alone, you still have relationships and new ones can always be cultivated from scratch by jumping into interactive pursuits. Feelings are often temporary and changeable like the weather - focus on the climate, the important other relationships outside of the narrow marriage definition of success - if the climate is good, then you will feel good and who knows what sort of relationships might emerge in the future. :o)
