My inner socialist and my inner libertarian are perpetually at odds with each other. I'm probably closer to a social democratic model. In essence, I think the State should do its part to regulate and care for its citizens, primarily by redistribution of wealth. I do not thing citizens should become dependent on the state - but not at the cost of a complete absence of social safety. There's a middle ground, there always is.
