My significant other and I do not have hatchlings - but my god I'd be awful. I am very much not a morning bird and the children would be murdered in cold blood by day three. I am a night owl, almost all of my creativty happens at night - most of my plays and screenplays are predominantly written in the late evening. Editing is for the morning, unfettered driling into creativity without disturbance - that is a night time thing. Inhibitions come away and the stories flow freely.
Perhaps that could happen at 6am as you've suggested..... but god that's terrifying. At this point in my pre-parenting life, I think I'd rather die.
And onto other things. You have a lovely style and flowing humourous prose. Keep writing these stories, you're going to nab yourself a pretty big audience if you keep at it with this level of expertise. Great article. :o)
