No. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that men and women occupy a system - this system creates feedback loops. This means both sexes need to be mindful of how problems can be solved in both opposition and by working collaboratively. Fourth wave feminism (in the west at least) needed to be the codification of existing equalities, the push for social equity and a movement that brought men on board. Social media didn’t facilitate that, men jumped off the bandwagon - which women interpreted as men being dicks, and men interpreted as women being entitled. In reality both are true depending on how you look at the problem.
I won’t be a feminist until such time as it can differentiate misandrist rhetoric from pushing coherent messaging. I will remain a ‘gender egalitarian’. There are important issues to address and they cannot be addressed through a gendered lens. They have to be addressed objectively.
This is often interpreted as ‘so it’s women’s fault’ - which is not only a misunderstanding of my position, it is evidence for it.
