Not at all. Anyone is more than capable of questioning the applicability of laws. If you feel laws are not reflecting justice as you see it, then the morally correct thing to do is petition law makers to change those laws. You cannot subvert those laws by enacting your own laws based on your own morality, well…. You can, but it’s a divisive move.

As an example, I will always campaign for the legal system change and fine tune how it processes rape cases. I will support building separate courts, I will support fast tracking the cases, and I support retaining specialist psychologists and police officers. I also support anonymity for both parties. I won’t support accusation by social media followed by mob cancellation. In the long term, as demonstrated by Heard vs Depp, it will set back the course of natural justice.

So, no… you don’t have to stay silent underneath laws you do not like…. But your default position in a democratic society should be towards systemic change, rather than ‘fuck you, your laws are wrong’ - because ‘fuck you, your laws are wrong’ is what both sides say. And I don’t trust anyone who believes they occupy the ultimate moral high ground.
