Not at all, it's right to sit uneasily with you - because the word 'better' means different things to different people. And getting hung up on things and debating them in the comments is exactly what I think Medium should be for. People can (and often do) read our continuing dialogue for an expansion on the ideas an article contains. It's one of the best things about Medium that's lacking on other social meida.

I think the Bhutanse national happiness index is probably the best indication of successful government. That's the one I'd stick to if I was given the choice, even if the kids are dead and everyone's poor - as long as everyone's happy about it, then your nation is likely to be successful and sustainable.

Trump is very likely to go down as the best evangelical right wing Christian President of all time. The fact he's never read the bible, wouldn't use it as anything other than a doorstop or be able to name any of the characters apart from Jesus is neither here nor there. He was a useful tool for the religious right and that's what Mike Pence was all about. It's going to get very messy indeed :o/
