Not speechless, but sleeping. Different timezones(!). And yes SC brings a much needed kick to the Penguin head on a fairly regular basis. It's part of her commitment to accountability, and if she's not available then her daughter hops in and does it as part of her philosophical work experience.
Compassion does (and should) have limits and boundaries. Understanding why someone is badly behaved does not mean you have to condone their behaviour - I don't mind Eve, she comes after me on a regular basis, often with ad-hominems and non-sequiturs. Now I have new information I can adjust accordingly and will attempt a more therapeutic approach. Tessa, however, overstepped the mark with inexperienced writers, she was aggressive, dismissive and rude. She was punching down - I believed, and do still believe, I was punching sideways.
And in my true argumentative style, I would say I wasn't even punching.
I was putting boundaries in requesting she stop wandering around the platform punching other people and asserting her superiority. As a result her behaviour was still inappropriate. I work in mental health and you have boundaries, consequences and feedback for a reason and Tessa needs to address those concerns before they get her thrown off the platform. She's a good writer, I've always said so - but she's not a good community member and that's more important. :o)
